CYBERCORE GAMING KLD

Opened up the 3rd largest internet cafe in nha trang, vietnam.

Things I accomplished when starting this journey:

  • Constantly maintained a strong SWOT analysis on my business.

  • Improved the Food & Beverage menu.

  • Consistently pulled in $2,000/month in profit in a country where the average monthly salary is $145.

  • Maintained proper maintenance on the machines to keep them stable.

  • Teamed up with a prominent local League of Legends streamer to help promote and market our internet cafe with his viewers.

    • He helped MC some of our local tournaments also.

  • Started my two of my own League of Legends team. One was an all male team and the other was an all female team.

    • Had them compete at other local tournaments to help spread our brand name.

  • Hosted monthly tournaments with cash prizes to help improve business and was a good marketing tactic.

    • Every time we threw a tournament all the machines would be full of customers. The best time to throw a tournament would be Friday or Saturday.

  • During low points of the business, set up promotions that would gift the customers 50%-100% free time depending on what the paid for.

    • It was important to fill all of the machines because a machine not being used is lost profit. Let’s say even if the customers were playing with the gifted free time, there was potential profit from being gained because they could be ordering food also.

    • The only problem from doing this is that eventually all the machines would be in use, but they would all be playing with their free time, but luckily it never reached that point.

HIGHLIGHTS

THE GRAND OPENING

Opened right on january 1st

This is a moment I would probably never forget. It was such a surreal moment to see all that work put into this cafe come to light. The day was somewhat rainy to it dampened the mood a bit, but the turnout was awesome, tons of people came and the tournament was a success.

CYBERCORE KLD LoL TEAM

Won a few local tournaments

Having a League of Legends team was one of my passions since I have always loved watching esports and the LCS. I was hooked on wanting a develop a team that would compete a tournaments and this was my chance to do so. It was a lot cheaper to start a small team like this then a grand one like the ones you see competing at the professional level.

This was also a really good way to help improve our branding in the city too.

APRIL 2017 LEAGUE OF LEGENDS TOURNAMENT

Very first tournament hosted after the grand opening

When I started the internet cafe it was just me, my aunt and my cousin doing most of the heavy work around the area. My parents were still back in the states working. So when the came to visit in April, I decided to host a big tournament as a way to showcase what I’ve accomplished here so far in Vietnam to my parents.
